The hottest exhibition in Adelaide – Fashion Icons: Masterpieces from the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
From over ninety haute couture garments created by the world’s leading fashion designers and shown at this exhibition I picked one – the Chanel day skirt suit and blouse (Haute couture, spring/summer 1965). It’s a mohair tweed suit with wool braid trim and silk jersey blouse. Still very much up to day! A perfect shape hangs perfectly.
“It matched the taste of the young designers of the 1960s, becoming a benchmark in the fashion world”
